Deadly Drugs at Nursing Facilities.

I’ll bet that you did not associate a nursing home with the use of “deadly drugs”.  Sure, there are many prescription medications at these facilities, but “deadly”?  In a recently reported case a vigorous 78 year old man was diagnosed with dementia.  Without the family’s consent, he was given drugs that were known to be fatal in older patients.

Once this story came to light people from all over America came out of the woodwork telling stories of their loved ones being given psychotropic drugs without consent.  Wrongful death suits have begun cropping up nationwide against nursing facilities who would administer such drugs without the knowledge of the immediate family.

If any of this sounds familiar you must take action to protect your loved one.  In the Great Southwest the man and the law firm to contact is Ken Wagner Law.  Attorney Wagner is Albuquerque’s nursing home drug misuse lawyer.  He and his team will begin an immediate investigation into your case.  Just call (505) 242-6300.

Nursing Home Abuse in New Mexico.

Have you ever thought about the number of people who live their daily lives in a nursing home?  That number is well over a million and a half and with the aging Baby Boomers it will continue to grow.  Over the next 30 years that number is expected to quadruple!  Many factors contribute to nursing home abuse.  Underfunding, ill-trained staff, and easy access to medicines, etc. are contributing factors.

Always look carefully at your loved ones for cuts or bruises that may be physical manifestations of nursing home abuse.  It is not quite so easy to spot mood changes in the patient.  You must separate a bad day from chronic abuse.  If you see physical, emotional, or mental changes in this very important person in your life it is time to take action.

Albuquerque nursing home abuse attorney Kenneth Wagner will pursue your case with sensitivity, but aggressiveness.  Nursing homes are often owned by large corporations with deep pockets.  They must be held accountable for the behavior of their employees.  Whether the suspected abuse has occurred in New Mexico or anywhere throughout the great Southwest contact attorney Ken Wagner’s office at (505) 242-6300.
